Molly's stocking, hanging from a Black Labrador Retriever stocking holder, on the the "lodge" fireplace mantel.

I thought you might like a peek into J's lodge, decorated for Christmas 2007. I photographed the lodge tree and fireplace this morning. There are two photos here, that were taken during Christmas 2006.
We were not going to put a tree in the lodge this year, as part of our plan to downsize a bit. However, that plan changed, when our new son in law asked J about the lodge tree. One thing led to another and J went to work, readying his space for Christmas, 2007.
This photo of Molly was taken during Christmas 2006, when we had a decorating extravaganza at our house. She needed every little nap she could get!! She was probably wondering what in the world was happening to her home! The three following photos were taken this morning. I did an enhanced black and white effect on two of them. The effect seems fitting for the space.

"if you happen to have a bit of barbed wire and an old horse-shoe..." lol
having lived in town allmy like, i don't think I've ever had such things around but that tree is cute and I can understand why you treasure it. Love all your decorations, as usual.
All my life! Grrrr. I hate when I don't stop to proof-read.
A wonderful room ! All the decorations are amazing. Molly looks so tired. We have a black lab who is still a puppy, oh my gosh the energy that dog has !!!!

Everything looks just wonderful!
The black and white pictures are perfect. Maybe it's my age, but I think black and white pictures are the best. To me, they emit a warmth color pictures don't. Isn't that strange?
That tree is so cool! I have a horseshoe, but no barbed wire.
I love that. My rian would have a blast. He is such a country boy.Great job!
Molly is a beauty! Maxie has his own stocking too. Everything looks just gorgeous and I particularly like the B&W photos.

The lodge looks so warm and cozy. I could sit there and have a cup of hot cocoa and just let the day float by.

Pat I love it. You know I would, it reminds me of things I would put in my house! Thanks for sharing the idea for that tree. I know someone who might just be able to make me one!

And I so love Molly! How could I not since she reminds me of my two "Grand Doggies," Ruby and Summer.

The true test of a great photo is when you convert it to black and white and it retains balance and allure. Brava fotographie! Glad I stopped by today! Have a great weekend Pat!

The "lodge" looks fantastic, Pat!
I want to try the barbed wire tree. How is the wire attached at the bottom? Twisted or soldered? Love it!

I love your lodge and can see why it's so special to your family to see it decorated for the holidays! You always have the best decorations, Pat. But I must say, Molly always steals the show! A big, cuddly dog really makes a place feel like home at the holidays!

Hi Pat, I always enjoy looking at your photos. And you have given me a fabulous idea. I never know what to get my neighbor who has horses and a big barn. I am going to try and make that barbed wire Christmas tree for him. He will love that. He's got a gazillion horseshoes sitting around and I've got barbed wire all around the property. I know what I will be doing Sunday afternoon. Thanks ~ Lynn
