~New Dining Room Table~

Our new dining room table and chairs arrived, Saturday morning. This completes the dining room makeover.

The photo, at left, shows the dining room before. Laura Ashley Gold 3 paint, from Lowe's.

We're talking about selling the glass topped table and chairs, later this month, at our daughter and son in law's subdivision sale. We're definitely putting the old chandelier in the sale.

There are five leaves that fit around the outer edge of the table, extending it to 74 inches. The table remains round. When the leaves are not in place, the table is the same size as our former table.
I plan to use the Queen Anne style chairs, I refinished, with black paint (one shown here), between the new chairs, when we have more than four guests.
Slipcovers were included, with the chairs. The table and chairs are finished in a very dark brown, that appears black, depending on light.
I recently won this beautiful painting, in a giveaway at Studio Stuff. I plan to use it at the condo. Thank you, Linda!

As I wrote in the post, just before this one, I was the recipient of two awards, recently. The first one is Autumn Friends, from Jan of Jan and Tom. I think by now, just about everyone is in a Fall Decorating mood. I'm passing this award to everyone who stops by the Back Porch. Please accept it with my appreciation for your visits and pass it along!

I also received the Hooked on Your Blog Award, designed by Julia at Hooked on Houses. Thank you Linda at Lime in the Coconut.
It's so very difficult to pass an award along to just a few. I am hooked on all the blogs on my list and then some! I've chosen 5 to receive the award, at this time and will pass it along to others, in future posts.
In no particular order:
Mary, at Across the Pond
Cathie, at Catherine Holman Folk Art
Kat, at Kat's Whimsy
Karen, at Yellow Farmhouse
Rechelle, at The Country Doctor's Wife
Please accept this award with my appreciation and pass it along to 5 or more.
***********************************************
Melissa, at the Inspired Room, asked for a list of 20 little things to treasure about Autumn.
1. Crisp Cool Days
2. Changing Leaves
3. Golden Light
4. A Fire in the Back Porch Fireplace
5. High School Football
6. Chrysanthemums
7. Caramel Apples
8. Apple Cider (warm or cold)
9. Curling Up in a Chair With a Good Book
10. Pumpkins
11. Apples
12. Soup and Chili Suppers
13. Walking Through Leaves
14. A Drive Along the Wine Road
15. The Ozarks in All It's Glory
16. Morning Mist
17. Getting Together With Old
Friends
18. Fall Decorating
19. Thanksgiving
20. Candlelight in the Afternoon

***********************************************
Thank you everyone for keeping J in your thoughts and prayers. Right now October 6, seems like a long way down the road.
Have a wonderful week!
EDIT:
Several readers have asked about the dining room furniture manufacturer. The table is Lexington~Long Cove Collection. The style name is Fall River. The chairs are Lexington~Long Cove Collection in the Summerville style.
The paint color is Sherwin Williams Interesting Aqua (walls) and Sherwin Williams Topsail (ceiling).
We've decided to leave the floor bare.

OH Pat! I LOVE the new look. The furniture is perfect. And the new chandy sets off the artwork beautifully.
I like the mix of the other chairs you will use for company too. That's neat that the new chairs came with slipcovers!
The glass display is pretty on the buffet table as well.

Oh girl I love round tables and this one is so beautiful!!!! It looks fabulous in front of those pretty framed prints on the wall...girl I swear you make me want to do a room 'pretty & fancy'!lol Great makeover my friend!

I love it! The blue walls with that table are amazing. And how cool to be able to extend the table to 72"! Perfect for when family gathers.

Beautiful as always. I would have taken your old room lock stock and barrel!

You should take the pictures to the sale and have them laying on the table so people can see how pretty it would look in their home. Some times furniture in a garage or driveway doesn't justify it.

I love the paint color next to the dark furniture. Very chic!

I really love this table and chairs Pat - what a great idea for extension - don't think I've seen one like that. Your other chairs will fit in perfectly for those large dinner parties....and perhaps Thanksgiving!!

Thanks so much for the award - you are a true friend.
Busy days for me - hope to post a few times before I leave now that Blogger seems to be working again for me.

Pat, Your dining room table and chairs really set off the new look. They are beautiful and I love the idea of the queen anne chairs mixed between the new ones. Your gardens look beautiful too!

Thanks for passing this award on to me along with all other wonderful blogs. I'm hooked on your blog too!

Pat,

I'm new to your blog, and I'm delighted to have found it. It is so lovely and obviously reflects the same quality of its owner.

And your dining room! Be still my heart! The color is one of my favorites, and the table and chairs are perfect as are the botanticals (great price on these!) and other items. It makes me want to re-do mine.

I looked through the entire blog before posting, and one of my favorite things are the Spode plates with the dogs. I'm a animal lover and chinaholic! ;-) Your back porch looks so inviting as does the rest of your home. Thank you for sharing. It's all delightful.

Looking forward to visiting again and again,

Sheila... who hopes to one day have her blog up and running! :-)

I liked the room tons before, but now that I see the new look, it's even better! The lower profile chairs seem to suit the chandelier and entire room decor just beautifully, and your Queen Anne chairs will together with them wonderfully!

Oh, Pat, what a wonderful table & chairs. It really does complete the new look so well. And the new chandy too...those shots look like a magazine. I love, love the new look & I thought it was going to be hard to improve on the old.

So much fun to update a room, you've done it again. I was wondering who makes the table & chairs. I know I've seen a similar table made like that & wonder if it's the same one I saw when I was looking at round tables. I looked at a bunch before I found mine. Love the dark almost black look of your new table. And what a bonus to have slipcovers for the chairs.

Lovely!

Brown-Eyes said...

Your photos do look as good as pro magazine shots...Both versions of your DR are stunning, but somehow the new room outshines the other one. I wish I had a round dining table, but it wouldn't fit my DR as well as the one I have. Always a pleasure to stop by your blog!

Oh Pat...your dining room is glorious! Such a warm, yet elegant look.
I adore the round table and the color. Oh how sweet those slipcovers are!
The chandy, the prints you framed, the new wall color, well, it is all just too beautiful.
As always, your taste and style are perfection!

Wow. WOW! The new look is amazing. I love the leaves that attach on the outside of the table to keep it round. LOVE! And the dark wood really pops against the blue walls.

Congrats on your awards. :-)

I love the new table and chairs. Somehow I missed the dining room makeover but our walls are painted the same color, maybe a little more saturated (I think it may seem more saturated because it is our entire wall and not just the top portion.) Anyway, as usual, you did mahvelous!!

(ps Wish the new furniture fairy would come visit me, 'cuz I sure don't want to put the old stuff back in there!)

Your dining room is simply MAGNIFICENT, Pat. It is so pretty I want to pick up my sledge hammer and beat the wholly heck out of ALL my furniture and start ALL over!! booo hoooo, i can't, tho!
So, I just sneak over to your lovely home and stare, cry, covet, ask forgiveness, whine, then ...finally...accept things as they are. :o)

J is in my prayers as well as you and your family !

Pat....You are so welcome! Glad you like the painting:D I have to tell you that you have me on a china hunt everywhere I go! This weekend we were in K.C. and I picked up lime green bowls to go with my black and white china! I will do a few settings and post them on my blog later this week! Nell Hills was wonderful and full of beautiful Fall goodies! Thanks for the inspiration (I think....ha..ha). My son and DIL in K.C. have that same table. Wow, Pat! I love it! The dark wood on the table really makes that awesome blue on the walls pop, too. Those slipcovers for the chairs are cute, too! You should get 'em monogrammed! :)

Just beautiful!! What a change. Now you make me want to change out my color and that light. The only thing about changing our light is the ceiling is so high that we need to build a scaffold. Its no fun for hubby.
So you are going to Branson! My Mom lives in North Arkansas about 30 minutes from there. She decided to work a few hours in a little craft mall. She paints and wanted an outlet for her work. This weekend the couple that owned it divorced and locks were changed. My Mom still has her little job for now but not sure what the future holds. I sent her some tassels and a few other things. I will get the name and the location of where she is at. I sent the things to her home address so Im not sure. Yall will have so much fun there. Fall is here and she says it really cooling down now. The store was slow but now that the weather is changing she is getting pretty busy. I hope the craft mall stays open. I have yet to see it... I may make it up there in November. Take care~

You must be so excited that the new table and charis are in your dining room. The redo is finally complete. I love it, that pretty much says it all. Good job on the "pickin' out".

We've had gorgeous "September weather" in Wisconsin the past week. I went to a wine festival in Algoma(a little town on Lake Michigan) on Saturday and just had a ball. Didn't stomp the grapes, but did the tasting!

Love to you both!
