~Taking a Break~

taking a break

As difficult as it was to tear ourselves away from the beautiful Ozarks, we decided it was time to come home.

As the photo shows, I am back at the little black desk, in the hearth room.

The trailing plant is an amazing Pothos, that began life in a tiny Wal-mart container, 4 or so years ago.  It’s still in the original container and sits in the basket of an iron plant stand.

I considered getting together a table post and/or  foodie post. And thought about a pink post, to complete this week. But after careful consideration, I chose to take a few days “down time” and step back from the computer.

I have a makeover thought or two, in mind. One of which was accomplished a couple of years ago. If I get around to it, I’ll have it ready for the next Met Monday.  I think you might like it. It has something to do with “millwork” or “trim” or something like that.

I’ll celebrate a birthday, over the weekend.  It’s amazing how time flies. I still, pretty much, feel like I did 40 years ago. How could I possibly be 66, already!!

I’ll be back sometime next week, with stories and photos, as usual.

As always, thank you all so much for your kind support of the Back Porch. I read and appreciate each and every comment and e-mail.

Enjoy the rest of the week and have a fantabulous weekend.

Pat, J, & Molly, too!

Have a beautiful week & enjoy being at "home".

We're heading out to Charlotte, NC on Sat. & I don't own a laptop. Sometimes I enjoy being away for the computer.

Anxious to see your next project!

My 16 year old daughter went with a friend and her family to Osage Beach last week. They stayed in a condo on the lake and had a great time. They even went parasailing. She took pictures and it looks like a beautiful place.

Enjoy your break!

Wishing every beautiful blessing and joy for your birthday, Pat! To me, there are no ages; it's a manmade way of measuring (and constraining) God's limitless time. Our days on earth are better measured by the way we love, the way we love, both of which you do so beautifully and graciously!

Enjoy your time off! I'll be taking a bit of a break myself, although I almost don't want to, seeing as how I've only just gotten back into blogging so much lately. But...it's all for a good cause. We're going camping for a few days so that we can enjoy the great outdoors, up close and personal. I'm very excited to do this. I haven't camped out in over 30 years. (Wish me luck! lol)

Hope to see you back here soon!

Pat, HAPPY BIRTHDAY a few days early! Are you on Saturday or Sunday? I'm on Friday and will be traveling on Saturday to go to the doctor out of state. It's time for me to overhaul my eating habits and get back on the right track!

I think we are all feeling the heat and the need to pull back and regroup. Here's hoping your break will give you that opportunity. I can't wait to see what you do! You always do great things!

Again all my love to you on your birthday!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Happy Birthday, Pat. It DOES seem like yesterday that you posted about your birthday last year!! I realize there are LOTS of us LEOS in blogland--mine is coming up in a week. I was telling someone the other day about your little black desk---I hope to find something that cute on one of my "hunts". Wow!! your philodendron is huge!! I have one that is over 20 years old, but I don't have a place to let it trail as beautifully as yours (plus, my newest cat wants to nibble on it and I think it's a plant that isn't good for cats to eat!) so I keep it trimmed.
I read your post the other day (with the lake scenes) and I don't think I left a comment--my blogging time has been erratic these last two weeks. I did want to say how lovely those photos were and how I enjoyed the hike you took us on. I've never been to the castle ruins, but I've heard about the place.

Well, I hope you have a nice rest, Pat. I met up with Jeanne yesterday at Nell Hill's in Briarcliff--whew!! my feet are still tired from walking and my mouth is tired from talking! Wish you could have joined us.

I'll be looking forward to your "return" and Happy Birthday.

Awww, Pat, I'm so sorry I missed wishing you a happy birthday, but we had company for the weekend and I just now saw your post.

It sounds like you had a memorable celebration. That's a wonderful picture of you and J. You look absolutely radiant, Pat, and J is so handsome.

Best wishes to both of you for a very relaxing week at home.

By the way, you and your Trim Guy did a beautiful job of making your "vision" an elegant reality.
