~Pheasant Surroundings~

pheasanttable2A

falltable15A Cuttings from a burning bush, plumes from ornamental grass and pheasant feathers, form the arrangement.

Copper containers, borrowed from the kitchen cabinet tops, a pheasant plate, and ceramic pheasants, we’ve owned for years and years, renewed with dark brown paint, complete the centerpiece.

pheasanttable9A A mix of Johnson Brothers plates, small tureens from Nell Hills, 99 cent Target flatware a $5 garage sale tablecloth, and Michael’s candle rings, used as napkin rings, are among the elements of this Fall table.

Stop by Susan’s Between Naps on the Porch, each Thursday, for table inspiration, around the land of blog.

pheasanttable10A I found the small stems at Marshall’s, after Christmas, 2008. I don’t recall where I found the larger stems; perhaps the Mikasa outlet.

Back Porch News

Just over a week ago, Back Porch Musings became www.backporchmusings.com

You will be directed here, when you click my old web address. Everything is as usual. I just decided to make this tiny change. When I switched, I lost my blog list. Not the Follower list, that one remained fine.

I’ve replaced about 50% of my old blog list and I hope to add more.

If you haven’t heard yet, J has completed physical therapy and is as good as new; as witnessed by his amazing work, painting the master bedroom and a piece of furniture or two.

table4bI’m excited about this “metamorphosis”. Completion is just over the horizon!

Rhoda is hosting a Fall Party, October 1st. Fall-color

I usually decorate the back porch and dining room table, for Fall and sometimes the kitchen island.

In honor of Rhoda’s party, I’m planning a little Fall something for the hearth room mantel and other areas of our home.

The image, above, is a vignette on the portico of the gift shop at Big Cedar Resort, during Fall 2008.

Wow - you have alot going on over there. What an amazing tablescape. I've been seeing alot of those feathers lately - may have to start adding them to my arrangements. Those small tureens - OMG! To die for! And if I forgot to mention before, your home looks like it's out of a magazine. Seriously, the first time I checked out your blog, I thought you had posted pix from a magazine!

~WOW! Pat this is simply stunning in every single detail! I just adore your gorgeous goblets and once again your photography skills boggle my mind. Can I give you an awesome photography blog award? If it comes up I'll vote for you I'm serious!

I am still on both B/P medications and tolerating them quite well now. I know it will stay this way at least until I go back to the doctor in a month or so. I'm so surprised it worked so quickly. Our heathy eating plan is helping me so much as well. I know thirteen pounds is a rapid amopunt for two weeks but one of my new meds is a water pill for B/P. They seemed to think that was part of my problem.
I know the weight loss will slow down now. Bummer....:) It was fun to see it come off that quickly.

I'm glad your hubby is doing well.

~Blessings to you today my friend, ~Melissa :)

Hi Pat!

I enjoyed this tablescape. The Johnson Brothers china mixes so well with the Nell Hills. Beautiful. And I was pleasantly surprised to see the bright blue wine glass mixed in with the autumn colors. A very nice touch! The centerpiece is an autumnal work of art!!

Sorry about your blog list. However are you going to get the rest back? I lost my followers list yeaterday and noticed many other's did also. Blogger is being swarmed with this problem...

Hi Pat,
It's all SO beautiful I hardly know where to begin! The colors are amazing. I love the way the warm browns are complemented by the cool blue walls and the glasses (and there's that beautiful blue in the Johnson Bros. plates!).

Your centerpiece is expressive and dramatic! What a find that crocheted tablecloth was for only $5! I'm no expert, but it appears to be hand crocheted ... imagine the hours of work that went into making it ...

Regards,
Bill

Hi Pat, I really like the combination of china patterns that you used here! The colors are spectacular and complement each together so well. I also love the play of the pheasant plate against the feathers in the arrangement. :-)
What a deal on the lace tablecloth! Can't wait for the fall party next week. You'll have some spectacular pics for us, I'm sure...

Lovely, Pat! I am wishing I'd picked up some of that Target flatware now. Maybe it's still there. I always love to see your framed works on the dining room wall. If I'm not mistaken, did those come from a calendar? Or am I thinking of another room? Everything here is so absolutely beautiful! I am especially fond of that tablecloth. I recently became a .com myself!

I've got to get my butt in gear and actually do something around here. I haven't even started yet, so that's why I waited until Oct. 1st, figured I could get it together by then and by golly, I will. I adore your whole tablescape.

Pat - I love the "chocolate" pheasants. They look good enough to eat. Don't you miss the Mikasa Outlet at The Lake? I really do. It was such a great place for gifts for others as well as gifts for me!

The table is just beautiful. Were these taken with your camera that was repaired? Did you decide on another one as your extra?

Take care and enjoy these fall days.
