The title has nothing to do with the 1958 James Stewart-Kim Novak movie.
A cloche (bell jar), an old dictionary (book), and a candle are items I used in a winter vignette on the foyer secretary.

I used a large mercury glass acorn and snowy pine branches, under the cloche. The open book is a very old dictionary. Another element of the arrangement is a birch votive/tea light holder, sitting on a mercury glass holder. The cloche sits on a hammered metal charger.
A pineapple, symbol of hospitality, hangs from one of the doors.

Marty, at A Stroll Thru Life, is having a Cloche Party, February 12. The theme is Valentine’s Day or Winter, if you don’t decorate for Valentine’s Day. A combination of both would be fun, too.

I knew you would not disappoint, you never do. I just love the old book. Am I the only one who loves the smell of old books? :) I adore the magnifying glass, too, and its intricate details. But, You know I heart the cloche. Its funny b/c I was looking at the small pineapple hanging on the door and then you showed a pic. I would love to see more of those bird and bug prints. That got my heart pittering real fast. :) Thanks so much for joining in the very first Tabletop Tuesday. I hope you are able to join more often. Hugs, Barb
It's always fun to visit you, Pat. The cloche may be the most versatile accessory of all time. I love the winter vignette and the cozy feeling it evokes.
