~Bell, Book & Candle~

The title has nothing to do with the 1958 James Stewart-Kim Novak movie

A cloche (bell jar), an old dictionary (book), and a candle are items I used in a winter vignette on the foyer secretary.

Barb of Grits and Glamour has graciously invited everyone to join her in a new event, Tabletop Tuesday.

I used a large mercury glass acorn and snowy pine branches, under the cloche.  The open book is a very old dictionary.  Another element of the arrangement is a birch votive/tea light holder, sitting on a mercury glass holder.  The cloche sits on a hammered metal charger.

A pineapple, symbol of hospitality, hangs from one of the doors.

Marty, at A Stroll Thru Life, is having a Cloche Party, February 12.  The theme is Valentine’s Day or Winter, if you don’t decorate for Valentine’s Day.  A combination of both would be fun, too.
