The recent ice/snow storm passed us by. With sunny skies, here in northeast Missouri, we decided it was a a great day for a day trip.
We arrived at North Main Street, Saint Charles, Missouri at about 10 AM, Saturday morning. The temperature was 20 something. Perfect weather for ice sculpting.
The mosaics show a few of the beautiful works of art in ice.
We stepped inside this shop and two galleries, to have a look around and warm up before returning to the sculpting.
The Black Labrador Retriever reminded us of Molly. He put on quite a show, playing with chunks of ice.
On the way home we stopped at Barnes & Noble. Treats Unleashed is just a couple of doors down. While I browsed the book store, J picked up a few Molly treats.
J signing a petition, at the ice festival, to prevent puppy mills in the state of Missouri. We believe this can’t happen soon enough.
Our thoughts are with folks who lost power as a result of the ice storm. We hope your power is restored soon. If you happen to see orange trucks from a Missouri Cooperative, it might be our guys. They recently returned from working in Iowa. I’m sure a crew or two from our neck of the woods will be in your neck of the woods soon, if they aren’t already there.
J tells some very interesting stories about working ice storms, during his nearly 40 years as a lineman for the rural electric cooperative.
Please stop by Mary’s Little Red House for Mosaic Monday.
Kris, please e-mail me, by clicking the Contact Me button, on the sidebar. I’ll try to help with your calendar dilemma.

Pat, what amazing ice scuptures - so beautiful sparkling in the sunshine. Very talented artists.
Love the dogs - and those treats for Molly look so 'human' I could crunch into one myself!
We had 5" of snow yesterday then a thick coating of sleet - looks pretty outside but is bitingly cold so I'm staying inside. Do stop by and see the birds visiting my garden - they are always pretty in the snowy landscape.
Blessings to all the lineman and power company employees around the country who keep us warm and safe.
Hugs from chilly NC.

What beautiful photos of the ice sculptures! I would have loved to wander around with the two of you.
We had about 10 inches of snow and today the sun is shining and the snow looks like it is covered in diamonds.

This is my ideal of a fun day! thanks for sharing info about your camera, and I respect your opinion on that subject! I will look into getting one. Also, thanks for your sweet note about my LR.

What beautiful ice sculptures. We don't get to see things like that here in Georgia. We do have ice on our trees this weekend though. I have been a fan of your blog for sometime and have just joined blog land myself. Stop by sometime for a visit. My pics will never be as good as yours. I need to invest in a better camera someday and take a photography course. I am still learning how to do the blog thing right now. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos with us...Kim
The ice sculptures are just amazing. What a glorious sight. They look so pretty in the sunlight. The antique shop looks like it had some gorgeous eye candy. Too cute. Dog treats are always a must and I am sure Molly appreciated it. Hugs, Marty

And those ice sculptures are amazing!! Our dogs LOVE ice! I won't give it to them because of their teeth, but hubby does all the time!! One of their favorite things!! That lab is too cute!
So glad you got to enjoy some sunshine even though it is still so cold! Brrr...get the chills just thinking about it!!

I love St. Charles and I guess it's a fun place to visit any time of the year! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Thanks for sharing your trip. The ice sculptures are so pretty. Love the way you did mosaics of your photos.
Thanks for stopping by. The chicken and noodles was good, but a little on the bland side this time - not sure what I left out.
Glenda
I've always wondered how those people make those sculptures. I'm in awe of that and those phenomenal sand sculptures you see on the beach. Puppy mills; yes, I'm in complete agreement. Good for him!
Brenda
at first glance I thought they were crystal - then I began to read and saw that they were made out of ice! oh so very cool. I really enjoyed looking at all of them.
Terrific ice sculptures....with only 20 degree weather they must not melt very fast.
I'm glad you missed out on the ice storm.
Those ice sculptures are specatacular. So many amazing talented artists! Your mosaics are beautiful as usual, Pat!...Christine
So glad the weather allowed you to get out and about! The ice sculptures are amazing and the other mosaics make me want to go out and shop!! Beautiful job Pat...

Imagine having the talent to sculpt with ice - enjoyed the mosaic.
Those ice sculptures are so amazing, made by those skillful hands. I have seen them on our local PBS station. The dogs all dressed up are so cute!

Pat I am always amazed by the beauty of ice sculptures and the ones you've shown are magnificent!
I agree..no puppy mills! Glad you were able to sign the petition,
Hope everyone gets their power back soon.
Hugs, Pat
I'm always in such awe of the ice carvers. Beautiful. And the dog pictures are so adorable...the blond one looks like a Goldendoodle..the kind we're thinking of getting. I live in western MO....I haven't been anywhere to sign the petition yet. I think I heard you could go online to do it also...need to check that out...those mills are horrific. Thanks for the reminder.
Those ice sculptures are amazing! But to tell you the truth I am seriously getting in the mood for some sand sculptures, I am so over all this winter right now, but helas more snow falling here.
Take care, Marianne

Those ice sculptures are amazing! The pig reminds me of our pig -- er -- pug Lucy. LOL.
The storm that missed you hit us hard here in Virginia Beach. We got nine inches of snow on Saturday, but fortunately did not lose power.
How beautiful they are!! Nice to be able to get inside a store and warm up too!
Did you find anything you liked?? :)
