I wanted tomato soup today but we are eating out of the freezer and pantry...No tomato soup. Your depression glass is just lovely.

oooooo---that soup and sandwich combo sounds perfect on this frigid evening! The news channel shows it is 4 degrees! While I was shoveling today, the temps ranged from 3 to 8! I had to take it in short trips and didn't get the entire drive finished. I did get my side and most of his...his car does better in snow than mine does! :) It's supposed to be even colder tomorrow and Sat....at least the snow is gone for now.

Your guest room is just lovely! Bet you've had lots of bloggers wanting to spend the night at Pat and J's B and B!

Stay warm and snug! Dana

PS That rice pudding looks so yummy!

Comfort food at it's best! I love tomato soup and grilled cheese...

p.s. I got my headboard at a local furniture store that sells mostly NC made furniture. It is hard to find a queen headboard without a footboard. I look for a long time, both in antique stores as well as stores that sell new furniture.

Oh boy...My fave comfort food. With milk and a dab of butter in the soup...and crusty melty gooey cheese in the toasted sandwich!

Best to you during these cold, hopefully comfy, days Pat!

Oh, I wish I could join you - I've been thinking of tomato soup and cheese sandwiches! Your thoughts on adding milk to tomato soup making it pink reminded me of our now-grown son, father of three darling boys. He never did like tomatoes but he l.o.v.e.d tomato soup when he was little. If I had told him it was tomato soup he wouldn't have eaten it, so I called it 'pink soup'! One day he played and had lunch with a little friend. The next day I as I stirred tomato soup on the stove he asked what I was making! 'Pink soup'. He looked at it and said, 'That's not what J.D.'s mama calls it - she calls it 'mato soup!' From that day on we had to call it 'mato soup - and he loved it. Still does!!

I had a friend, when our girls were younger, ...we would get together on Wednesdays for a play date, and she always made this same meal for lunch! She added milk to her tomato soup, too! It always tasted better at her house! :) Wonder why that was?

It is so cold, here, too! Unseasonably, so! We are not use to it! Hope you are staying warm! The scenery you pictured is beautiful and enchanting! ~hugs, Rhonda :)

YUM! I love cream of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches (even without that white wintry stuph outside) ... they've been favorites of mine since childhood. (Zero degrees makes me shiver just THINKING about it though). Rice pudding ... almost as good as bread pudding in my book! Love the little pink egg holder.

My Pink Saturday post is at Happily Retired Gal, but I got carried away while sharing 'tamale-making' at Sacred Ruminations yesterday afternoon and evening ... so this morning I'm trying to catch up on blog visits before the day actually begins ... just a couple of blessings of this retired life ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
