We commissioned Jake to make a cabinet for the breakfast room at home, when he made the table for the condo, seen HERE.
As with the farmhouse table, Jake used boards from the 100 year old Missouri barn. He also used antique beadboard.
We arrived back home, Saturday afternoon. I filled the cabinet with the Mikasa French Countryside and other white dishes, I’ve collected since 1983.
I’ll change the arrangement on the base top, from time to time. The white dishes will remain on the shelves with a bit of a change, now and then.

Pat, love it, love it, love it and the way you displayed it too. Your duck casserole looks like my new rooster one.
What a masterpiece ...
Pat, it is a beautiful piece. I love the farmhouse rustic look and this piece is a dream. I love the patina, the history of the wood and the overall shape and size. Your collection of white dishes is the icing on the cake.
Just beautiful...even peaceful.
Pat...thankss for your warm thoughts and prayers. They were most certainly heard.
Oh, Pat! I love it! I just knew it was a hutch you were having made! Your white dishes look so pretty, too! I especially love the little wooden closure! I hope you are having a great weekend!...hugs...Debbie

Pat, I was wondering what the surprise piece would be, and this is simply wonderful! Beautiful craftsmanship and color! But I also LOVE your swan! I have a small collection and am looking for more, especially wooden and hand carved. I always enjoy your pictures. Linda
I love it Pat! And all the white dishes really pop out! I am coming to St. Louis in Sept. I might need to pick your brain on places to go shopping! Again it is wonderful.

What a beautiful way to recycle! There is no one who loves using old wood more than me, so I can appreciate this gorgeous piece so much!! And your French Countryside is so perfect there. I really like that one better than the Italian, but maybe I can add some salad plates to mine! Gorgeous, gorgeous!!
Wow did you guys design the cabinet specifically or did you just tell the guy notionally what you wanted. That is an amazing piece of furniture. I cannot believe how great it looks with your dishes! AWESOME! W.C.C.

It's beautiful, Pat! It particularly looks nice against that wall color. And I've always loved the different colored chairs. You have impeccable taste.

Absolutely gorgeous Pat!
Pat, I am drooling over your table and hutch....is that okay? Love the idea of 100 year old wood....what stories it could tell. Picture perfect! Linda

Oh, Pat it's beautiful!! I am seriously thinking about changing out my buffet in the DR for something large like this to hold my white dishes & other things. I spotted one at a consignment store that's a creamy color with beadboard backing & it's 6' wide, 7' tall & really a great price. My hubby thinks it's too plain, but it really is simple and pretty. I will probably keep looking & get a darker wood one and I hope to find a large one.
I love this one, it is truly beautiful. That old wood makes it look like a treasured antique. Beautiful!
What a wonderful piece of furniture! Perfect for your beautiful white collection!
It's beautiful Pat! Your white collection is perfect displayed in the new hutch. The table in your previous post is almost too pretty for words!
What a great piece of furniture! i love it and i really love the fact that it has a history. You always do a great job of arranging dishes. Beautiful!
Wow...you must be smiling at both of your homes! He did a great job, the white is perfect on it and you are one lucky lady!
Hope you've had a great birthday, Pat!! I LOVE that new hutch and all of the wonderful dishes you have collected and so artfully displayed!!

Pat, that cabinet is gorgeous! You are fortunate to have found such a talented craftsman.
I've been following your blog and reading your archives during the last week or so. You certainly have an amazing eye and talent for decorating and photography.
Thank you for sharing so willingly.
Oh, and Happy Birthday!
Another beauty - Jake has certainly a lot of talent in his chosen craft. Love your French Countryside - remember I have it too and enjoy mixing it with other china. Have you noticed it seems much harder to find now? Italian Countryside is always on special sale at places such at Macy's, but no French!
Hope your Summer is fun and that you aren't as hot as we are here - just broke another record and the temps. keep climbing, ugh!
Hugs - Mary
LOVE IT!!..really inspiring me!..thanks for sharing!;;;Lacy
Oh Pat, I'm glad I came back to look at this post, because I love seeing your wonderful farm table with the hutch. They are perfect together. All of your white pieces just pop against that hutch. What a craftsman he is. laurie
