~An Autumn Appetizer~

Playing with dishes in anticipation.

Fresh Alstroemeria from Kroger.

Votive cups, Michael’s a couple years ago.

Nothing new on the table other than two vases. The tall vase and larger of the small vases are new from Michael’s seasonal clearance. The smallest vase is from a long ago garage sale.

The tray is from All About Home, in our town.

The dinner plate is Autumn Monarch, from Johnson Brothers.

The blue plate is from Home Goods.

Animal print salad plate from Wal-Mart, several years ago.

The small white plate is one of 6, in a stand, from Home Goods, last year.

The pumpkins are from Wal-Mart, several years ago.

I don’t remember where I bought the stemware.

White luncheon napkin is vintage.

Flatware from Bass Pro Shop.

Placemats are from Wal-Mart.

Appetizer: A small, light, and usually savory first course in a meal.

In this instance, a table setting and images to whet the appetite for Autumn.

Thank you all so much for your response to Exterior Design and the Zebra.  You can imagine our surprise!  Definitely unexpected in rural Missouri.

Very beautiful setting! After this hot summer Missouri has experienced, I am definitely ready for fall. But winter can certainly hold off for a long time!

Have a good day,

I'm ready for autumn and I really, really wish we had a Michael's over here. I love going in there when I'm in the US especially at this time of the year. I also wish we had all the seasonal crockery available, I saw a beautiful autumnal set last year but it's getting it home - I'm wishing I'd asked if the store wou;ld ship it now!

Oh this setting is so pretty! I love the pumpkins! Just so warm and inviting:@)

It is beautiful but I don't think I am ready for fall! The hot hot days we had are gone, and this is the time of year when I start feeling bad for the kiddies - only 2 weeks until school begins.

Your such a tease!!

With the weather forecast I just heard this morning, fall is certainly a consideration. Morning temperatures in the 50's wound wonderful. You pictures are lovely. Thanks for the beauty this morning.

Pat, what gorgeous colors you the way they look in the blue dining room. Is it still hot there? I am longing for fall as we melt in our heat here in the south. Linda

This is an autumn appetizer indeed! So neat how you paired the animal print plates with this setting. I would have never thought of that but it looks great! Such pretty colors on your new vase. Love the pumpkins, and stemware also. I am so ready for fall, just not the COLD weather!

How beautiful! The placemats look very much like some expensive ones I saw at Pottery Barn!

Such a pretty combo with the soft oranges and blues! Your table is just outstanding!
And the candle votives create such a soft warm glow!

What a beautiful preview of things to come, Pat. I'm so ready for Fall, but our Mississippi weather doesn't have even the slightest hint that it's on its way.

Best wishes to you and J for a very happy week.

Wow, you are all ready for Fall already! I am clinging to summer as if my life depends on it, but the storms outside remind me that Fall is definitely on its way here too.
I love your tablescape, puts me right in the mood...

Oh, beautiful. I may need to stop by Michael's on my next trip out. I am ready for Autumn in a big way. With the heat of this summer and the long period of rainless days, it makes me wonder if the trees will show off their colors dramatically or not.

Pat-You naughty girl-rushing us into Autumn when I still have a soul that is hankering for some Summer (which by-passed us almost completely). I love the crisp cool evenings that Fall brings..and you are just a bit ahead of me on the decorating. Sept 1st and I bring it on!!! Diana

Hi Pat, beautiful setting as always! Love the collection you stacked, but I'll have to say I'm just not ready for fall. Hanging on to summer! :)

Beautiful as usual. I didn't know they carried flatware at Bass Pro. Hubby and I were there on Sat. but mostly I looked at deer stands and camouflage! Next time I'll have to look more carefully. I'm sooooo ready for FALL!

I adore all of the little touches on your perfect table.

It is so hard to think about fall here as it is 113 degrees. But oh how I wish it would arrive soon.

Brenda@Cozy Little House said...

Pat, this is stunning! I'm so ready for fall now if I wasn't before. (Of course I was; it's 110 here some days!) The texture of that place mat against the dishes: phenomenal!

Yellow Rose Arbor said...

What yummy colors for fall! The blue adds a nice pop! It's hard for me to think fall just yet, as it is still in the 90s here in FL, probably another 4 to 6 weeks before we get a much needed break from the heat!

Gorgeous! Wonderful photography!
