Ralph Lauren Home advertising is beautiful.
I wasn’t surprised when I found inspiration for this week’s tablescape at the RL Home site.
Inspiration for the table from Ralph Lauren Home.
I saw these photos several months ago and thought of putting together a table, using these colors and textures. I bought bandanas and woven round placemats at Walmart, in preparation; that was the extent of collecting the elements, for quite awhile.
Fast forward to Monday morning, this week.
J had another blood draw, early that morning, a few miles south of our home. As usual, we found other things to do while we were in the area.
A trip to Jo~Ann Fabric was on the list. The fabric store is in a new location, in Saint Peters MO, formerly the Circuit City building. If you live in our neck of the woods, stop by; more space than the former location and lots to see.
What did J do at Jo~Ann Fabric? Well, J was fascinated by the sewing machines. I was beginning to think he was going to make a purchase and sign up for a class somewhere. Definitely not our grandmothers’ treadle machines.
Another stop was Home Goods. J found a comfy seat in the front of the store, while I looked around. HG is where I found the navy floral plates ($3.99 each), for my RL inspired table.
We stopped at Barnes and Noble for book browsing and tea, before our return trip home.
Late Monday afternoon, we received the call from J’s Cardiologist. His Pro Time numbers were too low. He’s on another dosage until Monday, when he has another test. We are hoping the correct dosage has been found, this time.

Beautiful as always! I love Ralph Lauren-one of my favorite designers...clothes too!
I hope they can get your hubby's ProTime straightened out-that is nothing to fool with. I work at one of the best Cardiology hospitals in the Midwest. It's amazing what they can do today. Good luck and hope they can get everything regulated. Diana
The layered candle took my breath away, Pat! And started my mind to ticking. J interested in the sewing machines? Made me laugh. Men are just interested in things that have motors. This tablescape is near and dear to me, for it holds my favorite colors!
Brenda
Beautiful~ Love the way you did that candle~
This is so fun and cute!
Donna
Great table! Very fun and very Ralph! I hope the tests all go well and they're soon able to figure out the problem.
Love the red, white and blue.. and really did love that candle. I really hope I remember to use this idea next time I need a centerpiece.

So gorgeous and so many wonderful details! I love the centerpiece!
Beautiful tablescape and pictures. Love the red bandana and the pretty blue against it. Have a great week!
What's the best way to describe RL?Maybe casual elegance-this is it, enjoy!
Well, other than the blood draw...sounds like a perfect day! Your table is beautiful. I love the navy dishes...oh, so pretty! You really did capture "the look"!
Pat, what a beautiful table - I have collected quite a lot of that blue calicoware china and I can't believe you purchased your plates for $3.99!!! They are over $20 each here in Australia!!
Thanks for stopping by,
Suzyq
Oh my heavens, you must have some roots in Texas? I am just kidding, but I know since I live in Texas, this is the look I want! Love each and every detail.
Thanks for sharing.
Nancy
The centerpiece is so fitting with the place settings! Love it.
Lovely! I hope all this works out for J. Are those beans in the glass vase with the candle? That looks great!
Charla
What a pretty table...who would have thought to combine bandana napkins with a tiny floral plate...I really like that combo. Love the candle holder, too.
Hope J's numbers come in as you hope. I am sure they will eventually get it. I too admire new sewing machines but the ones that do what I want are thousands of dollars. I will have to find one used sometime and learn how to use them. Your table setting is great. I love the blue glasses. You should enter this set-up in the state fair. W.C.C.
Your table is beautiful, Pat! The bandanas add a great touch. Love the flatware!...Christine
So sorry that they don't have the treaments right yet. I will continue to keep you all in prayer. Your tablescape is gorgeous. I love RL and I absolutely love our blue plates, so pretty. The chargers and placemats are wonderful too. So pretty. Hugs, Marty
Hi Pat, I love your Ralph Lauren inspired tablesetting. What a fun table to sit at, visit and enjoy a great meal.
I hope they get J's levels all lined out. I so remember those days, of the constant up and downs and the run for blood work. Mr. P hasn't been on coumadine now for over 6 months and is actually doing much better.
Aren't you enjoying this early prelude to fall evening?
hugs ~lynne~
Oh My! What a gorgeous table Pat. I adore those navy plates, and how perfect they are. Makes for incredible photos too! So hope everything falls into place with your J.
What a great table setting! I love it. Hope J's Protime gets straighten out...
ah yes Ralph ... he's a keeper
as always inspire to the nth degree!!
I'm sending positive thoughts your way for J's ProTime level to be OK soon!!
Love your RL inspired 'scape!! You did a terrific job combining the various elements. . . LOVE the bandanas used as napkins. I did that last summer for a little gather....somehow, mine didn't look as great as YOURS did!! You have the touch!
Enjoy another fallish Missouri day!! L, Dana
Hi Pat! Now one does a tablescape better! Love the red and blue. Those plates are gorgeous and the little bananas - adorable.
I'm praying the doctors will get J's med right this time. Bless his heart! Hope the changes don't make him feel badly!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Beautiful table Pat.
I do hope all is well with your hubby real soon.
Jeannette
Beautifully done. I love the colors and the layered candle and the bandanas.. Hopefully they get the meds regulated correctly. Nothing wrong with a sewing machine!!! :-)
I hope the meds prob gets resolved!
The table is great. Love all the textures. The centerpiece is wonderful!
Ralph Lauren - my favorite inspiration designer! You captured it great with a touch of yourself in it. Sally
Best wishes, that the perfect dosage numbers will be found, soooooon.
Gentle hugs...
Pretty! Like your candle. I try not to look at the sewing machines these days. I keep telling myself I would not use one enough to justify buying it. My daughter borrowed mine few years ago and have not seen it since. Sure hope they can get J's meds regulated soon.
Ah, Pat, your last 3 posts just have the most beautiful photos. So pretty. Love the outdoor shots & the zebra. How fun! I bet that was a shock to see.
I'm still trying to figure out my camera, getting frustrated along the way. I know I need to get a good book, so I definitely need to do that soon.
I love all these woven textures and colors & I love those blue floral plates...Home Goods is a dangerous place for me to wander thru, it's rare I come home empty handed!
Hope your hubby's correct dosage has been found...
Beautiful table!! Love the new flower plates.
Your talent and exquisite taste never cease to amaze me!
I know it's a tablescape Pat but it makes my mouth water for a ribeye, potato salad and cowboy beans!!
Just Lovely!
I sure hope J's dosage is right this time. I am sure it's a very stressful time for all of you!
Hugs, Cindy
You should know that I, being TEXAN, would love this table....You did a great job..
I have to have my protime checked very often, too. I went last week..blood too thick..waited a week and went back in today...back in the desired range. What I eat, drink, even stress, tiredness, too much walking, not enuf walking..all these things "mess" with my blood thickness or thiness..Sometimes, we have to change the amt. of the blood thinners...other times, my body seems to take care of it on it's own. The good thing...I live less than 10 minutes from the clinic...makes it so much easier for me.
Good luck to J....
xo bj
Wonderful table setting!! Lovely.

Your table really caught my eye. I just love the new flower plates. The silverware wrapped in the bandanna is just adorable! Great Job.
So, so cute!!! LOVE the deep blue glasses, and those plates with the blue and white flowers are gorgeous!
Hope all goes well for your hubby.

This makes me feel very homey!
I fell in love with the handles on your flatware that I saw peeking out from the bandanas. I know that I would love it. I love iron.
Pat...great job! I like yours better! I love the colors and the textures. I always love using bandannas as napkins. I love your silverware with the curly ends. So fun! Come link up to Centerpiece Wed on my blog today.
Karin
Pat, that is such a cute table. Just love it.
Wow, that's beautiful! The cobalt glass is striking with the red bandanas. Great ideas here!!
I like your take on the RL theme...it is really different and fun! Love the cobalt dishes! Joni
All the elements in your tablescape are perfection...great balance..superb color choices...I love it. Ralph would be proud! Thank you for sharing your charming design. I hope that J is on the mend. Cherry Kay
This is gorgeous! I like it better than the RL! Even your casual settings are elegant! Love it!
Katherine
Pat,
I love this table setting. This would be so pretty for an outside party too!
Red,White & Blue one of my fav's..love those red bandana(napkins!
Our dishes this week are very similar!! And the funny thing is that I told my husband that my dishes were so Ralph Lauren/Laura Ashley. Your post looks much better, but I am glad to see I was thinking like you, since I LOVE your blog. Lori L
Pat, I like your table setting better than the RL, and I love the beans around the chandle. Those blue chintz dishes are wonderful, and the red looks so pretty with them. I'm laughing about J getting interested in sewing machines. He must have been really bored! laurie
I just love the layering of beans and such in your centerpiece. Table is cute! Hope your hubby gets better soon!
I love this -- all the layering and texture, makes a very welcoming table. Hope all your health issues are soon on the mend.
Love it!!!
Pat, I love this table! Fabulous looking and so inviting.
I feel for J- I'm on some new meds myself and we haven't yet hit on the right dose- uggh!
xoxo Pattie
With all due respect to Mr. Lauren - and giving him full credit for the inspiration - I prefer your table! This is just lovely and I'm going to remember it.
Love all the colors in this tablescape, Pat...and love the bean candle holder...how cool is that! Hey, Cool Beans! LOL
I surely hope they get it right for your hubby...and hope your blood draw wasn't anything serious. Little prayers going your way for great results for BOTH of you!
Love,
Susan
