falltable4

Lantern from Schaefer House, Jefferson City Missouri, a couple years ago.

falltable6

A freeform arrangement in a shell shaped container, assorted faux pumpkins, ceramic shore bird and a tea light lantern; tabletop vignette for the harvest table.

falltable5

I arrange vignettes at the end of this table, at the condo, because I like the backdrop.

This arrangement also leaves room for four place settings, without obstructing the view.

The shell plates and glasses are plastic, from Home Goods.  White dishes, placemats and napkins from Home Goods, also.

The framed sunflower photo, on the shutter/window, is one of my photos. Sara Tetley’s Two Boats was here, before.

falltable88

falltable9

Above Sara Tetley’s Two Boats is a photo showing sail boats at Mackinac Bridge (Michigan), by photographer Nancy May.  The photo is a souvenir from a trip to Mackinac Island.  The sunflower photo was on this wall before moving it to the shutter/window.

Another Evergreen Mfg purchase.  I saw this birdcage Wednesday, thought about it, went back Thursday, bought it.  I am hoping I can use this on the chest behind the living room sofa at home.

quiet

Family has been here at the lake with us, most of the time, this trip.

This morning, it’s so quiet here, after everyone left for home.

Miss them already!

We will return home tomorrow (Tuesday), after a full week of fishing, golfing, fun, food, visiting and glorious weather.

Hi Pat, I love checking in with your blog. It is warm and friendly, and the photos are beautifully done. You must give me some tips. Enjoy your day in your lovely setting, and thanks, too, for your visit. L

Wonderful vignette on your table Pat!! Love the whole composition. Just gorgeous. I have been reading all of your posts lately. Don't want to miss a thing because you decorate just like I like to. Very natural with lots of pumpkins. Your photography is an inspiration. I will confess I have bought your camera and I am in awe of your photography. I sometimes feel I am getting it but I still need some practice. I loved your mum shots and I went right out and tried them with mine, but I will have to get that 50 mm lens to get the looks your getting. Just awesome to visit! Thanks for telling us how your getting these shots too! (My Dad is a long time photographer too. He had me in the darkroom at the age of 6! LOL)

I liked your table from the beginning but am really falling in love with it! And I love how you put your vignette at the end of the table. You have the touch!

We are spending a quiet holiday at home by ourselves. I miss the kids but sometimes need to let them do their own thing.

Now to drag my fall decorations out...

Hello Pat- These photos are glorious! I love fall and you have captured it so lovely in vignette! In particular, I love the photo with your sunflower photo as a backdrop. You have an eye for composition. Sometimes I wish your blog were in magazine form to savor it's pages and cut out favorite pictures for an inspiration book. But that's the great thing about blogging, I can always look back on the many beautiful photos you have posted.
Sincerely,
Kris

As always, your photos are gorgeous. The vignette is very pretty and you are right that the backdrop really adds to it. Love the tablescape, especially the casual gathering of flatware in the vase. Your week with the family sounds lovely. We are enjoying a bit of Fall weather, yesterday and today, with some rain also.

You create such beauty for the eyes and the soul in your environments, Pat. I'm not one to create vignettes myself (more minimalist in my home), so it's a special treat to come and visit yours and reap the rewards of your skill and trained eye. I'm looking forward to seeing how you arrange the birdcage; cool piece!

The last pic of the dock is stunning. Most of us would see just a utilitarian piece, but you've captured texture and color - who knew there were so many colors in weathered wood? - and even more. In those worn, weathered planks, there's a sense of summers and family gatherings, of good times shared. I just love how your photos capture more than just an image, but an emotion as well. So grateful that you share your gifts.

Hello Pat...

My friend, your lake house is absolutely divine!!! Ohhh...how I would enjoy spending some time there! It sounds like you had a fabulous time with your family...that's wonderful! We had our kids here for the weekend and they just left. I know what you mean about the house sounding sooo quiet...tooo quiet!

Anyway, I just adore your new autumn vignette! My friend, your table is fabulous!!! I'm so envious! Hehe! I think the vignette that you created for the end of that pretty table is just perfect! Pat, I always enjoy my visits to your home! You have decorated it beautifully! It really should be in an interior design publication!!! Thank you for sharing it with us today for Marty's party! This was such a treat!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

PS...your photo of the beautiful orange flower is gorgeous and sooo perfect by that beautiful autumn vignette! They look like they belong together!!!

Pat, I always look so forward to seeing your vignettes. You manage to put together the neatest things. I love this one especially. The lantern is wonderful with the tealights. The bird is such a cute addition and using the shell to hold the flowers is genius. Your tablescape is fabulous too. Thanks so much for linking to TTT. Love it all. Hugs, Marty

Hello Pat, a beautiful arrangement and vignette. The table setting is simple and lovely. I am ready to fall up this home too. Our weather feels like fall.

All of your photos yours and the ones you purchased are beautiful. I remember the ferry we took to the upper before the MacKinic bridge was built. Our grandfather had a hunting cabin and we vacationed there. I'm OLD!!!

Hope you had a wonderful Labor Day with your family.

Good Morning, Pat!! Even before you told us why you placed your fall vignette at the end of the table I was thinking "how smart" to put it there....they can still sit there and eat without moving the arrangement!! I LOVE that idea! Of course, I love everything you used to make that arrangement, too! I especially love the sunflower picture...that's wonderful....and so perfect when viewed with the other fall items.

Glad you had a good LDay at the lake. Hope you didn't have all of the wind we had here in KC...we did have nice temps...and NO rain for once!

Have a safe trip home! L,Dan
