~A Sunday Drive & Yellow Flowers~

A few months ago, Manuela of The Feathered Nest, wrote a post about flowers, she purchased at Kroger. Kroger is a supermarket located in various areas of the US. Manuela spoke about her local Kroger marking fresh flowers down, on Wednesdays, to make room for new shipments. I forgot all about checking our Kroger, until today. I was happy to find the yellow flowers, Alstroemeria, marked to $1.99 a bundle and could not resist bringing two bundles home, for the dining room table. If you have a nearby Kroger, you might check to see if they discount fresh flowers. It's a wonderful and fairly inexpensive way to have fresh flowers in your home.

Sunday was a beautiful day for a drive in the country. We started out early in the morning, driving west, toward the prairie. I've included several photos from our drive.

A large farm can be seen in the distance across the prairie.

J took this photograph of our neighbor. Our property backs up to the farm. The field is being prepared for Soybeans.

I'm very happy to report, J's appointment with the surgeon went very well. His recovery is progressing nicely. J will return for another visit in September.
Our other appointment was this morning, with our dentist. That was very good news, too!
We're looking forward to St Charles County Friends of the Library Book Fair, which takes place this coming weekend, beginning Friday.
