It’s Tablescape Thursday, hosted by Susan, of Between Naps on the Porch. Thank you Susan for hosting this fun event, each Thursday.
This is one of those spur of the moment, thrown together tables, I do now and then.
While I was putting this table together, I took time out to catch up with my e-mail, from friends JoAnn & Gwyn. As I was replying to one of the messages, I mentioned I was putting together a cute tablescape, on the back porch. I ran the A and C together…making the word acute. I suppose, subconsciously, I was telling them about a malady, known as, acute tablescapeitis. Finally, we dish folk have a name for our disease!!
Chicken wire cloches, from Raised in Cotton, plates from Nell Hill’s, and a rug (inspired by Cote de Texas) from Target, are among the elements of this setting.
The hen and rooster salt and pepper shakers were my mother’s. I believe they are from the 1950’s. The tiny cloches are from All About Home, here in town. Napkins purchased at Walmart. The flatware is from the Oneida outlet closing sale. I don’t remember where I bought the glassware. The rooster, in the chicken wire cloche, is from Marshall’s.
It’s very overcast, gloomy, and rainy in our part of the world. With the poor light, inside and out, I chose to use the Canon 50mm lens, for these photos. Great for close ups of tablescapes and wonderful for low light situations. Of course, since I finished this post, the sun is trying to shine!
