We see these daisies, growing in our neighbor’s garden, from our windows. They are luminescent just after sunset and just before sunrise.
Please stop by Susan’s, for gardens and other outdoor views, each Wednesday.
We watched the 1960 Doris Day-David Niven movie, “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies”, over the weekend. Love that film!
I was reminded of the daisies, growing in our neighbor’s garden and took these photos, early Monday morning.
Have you made a Daisy Chain and worn it in your hair? I have…
Bright flowers, whose home is everywhere
Bold in maternal nature's care
And all the long year through the heir
Of joy and sorrow,
Me thinks that there abides in thee
Some concord with humanity,
Given to no other flower I see
The forest through.

I love daisies -- a favorite garden flower at Linderhof. Great pictures.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that movie - but I'm a big Doris Day fan - always happy movies. Another movie stated that daisies were happy flowers and I agree. Beautiful photos once again
Hugs - karen
I love daisies! Defintely a happy flower1 My daisies bloomed profusely this year....sadly they are starting to wane. I also love Doris Day movies...so innocent and sweet.

Fabulous Post!!!
I have always loved the movie and I have really been loving the flower more and more and more.
I love Shasta Daisies, and planted some here which are blooming also. Love the film too, a classic!
Daisies are my daughter's favorite flower..as was my mother's.
These are wonderful and your talent as a photographer really does them justice.
I loved that movie, too, and haven't watched it in years. She has always been one of my favorites and I didn't miss her movies. Rock Hudson once said she had the cutest tush of any ladies he ever worked with!! :O) Think they were really good friends right up to the end for Mr. Hudson.
He was always soooo handsome and she so precious. And, I adored David Niven!!
Lovely pictures of one my favorite flowers! I also watched PDETD this weekend...I adore Doris Day! What a great actress she was, our perpetual virgin...
Sandi
Pat-I love daisies! They are just wholesome all-American flowers to me :)--just like Doris Day! I was thinking of that movie as I saw your picture and then read that you had watched it :) Glad you have such a wonderful view!
I watched that movie this weekend too! So sweet! I love Doris Day! and I love those daisies.:)
I think Daisies are like little rays of sunshine tucked into a flower bed or a vase. Beautiful pictures, Pat!
I think I'll get the movie from Netflix for us to watch on our family vacation next month. It's truly a classic, and they don't make many like that anymore, do they.
Daisies still my heart!
I remember that movie. It was fun to watch. Yes, I have made daisy chains. Wore them in my hair and as necklaces and bracelets. I love daisies...
Gprgeous daisies!!!
Daisies are my mother's favorite flower...she used them in her wedding!!! Everytime I see them I think of her!!!

What pretty daisies!
Blessings,
Sandra
Pat, Those daisys are beautiful!!!!! So country and Summery! Nancy
I've never made a daisy chain for my hair, but I can picture Maddy (our 9 yr old "flower child" granddaughter) wearing one. Her mom's favorite flower was a daisy back when she married my son...and although the marriage is over, we still think fondly of our former daughter-in-law. To this day, I think of the daisy as the perfect flower for her and for Maddy.

I DID! I DID!!! Good memories! Thanks. And thanks for the great pictures. Sometimes it is the little things ...

I just love dasies! I will chack on those colors and get back to you. I think we threw the can of blue away but I wrote the number down...somewhere..hehe! I know the wall color is relaxed kahki from sherwin. I will find out for sure~
my kitty's name sake of course!
Goodness they are gorgeous!! I'm trying to decide on what to plant in our backyard and I'm thinking lots of large clumps of the same flower. This seals the deal! Seeing all the daisies together is stunning.

Hi Pat, :) We used to make chains, not from daisies, but from the wild clover growing in the grass (the same clover that hid the bees that I would step on). We would actually jump rope with them. ~ Lynn
Pat - I love daisies. Mine have bloomed and are gone. I think it depends on what side of the house they are located. Mine are on the west. They bloomed early this summer. Your pictures are fantastic.
Have a wonderful evening.

Hi Miss Pat. Oh those poor chairs of mine. They keep getting pushed and shoved into every corner. I started out with a bang then went on vacation and well.... you know how that goes. Im looking for just the right pillows and Im having trouble finding the button covers for these babes... Have a sweet one!
