The road trip continued with a stop at Bass Pro Shop, The Landing, Branson Missouri.
You definitely know you are at Bass Pro, when you see an old pickup truck wearing a wreath with shotgun shell lights.
“An official Red Ryder range model carbine action air rifle with this thing in the stock which tells time.”
“Oh No! You’ll shoot your eye out!”
(from A Christmas Story, 1983)
I was in elementary school with a boy who had a BB embedded under the skin above one of his eyes. Ralphie’s mother, teacher, and Santa had a point when they told him he would shoot his eye out.
J bought a BB gun, like the one seen in the movie, A Christmas Story.
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus…and dishes at Bass Pro Shop.
Old books, waders, creels and decoys…
Trapper baskets and old tins… Several ducks and a loon…
…an aquarium.
Big Cedar Lodge (a Bass Pro resort) is just south of Branson, at Ridgedale Missouri.
A large Christmas tree, in the lobby of the lodge.
Big Cedar is the usual destination for our Fall getaway. This year, we chose Hilton Promenade, on The Landing.
We drove down to Big Cedar, one day, during our stay in Branson.
Below are photos taken in the gift shop Collections and in the lobby.
I’ll post the final installment of our Road Trip diary, soon.
Until then, I’m adding a hint of what is happening at our house, this week. Look for a Christmas decorating post Sunday 11/29.
Be sure to stop by Mary’s for Mosaic Monday.
I use Picasa 3 and Photoscape to create mosaics.
