~A Visit From Pittypat~

~Pittypat & Pat at All About Home~

Pat arrived, late Monday afternoon. It has been wonderful seeing Pat again, after 2 years. She was our guest, at the lake, during our 45th high school reunion, in 2006. Aunt Ruth was our other dinner guest, Monday evening. We four had a great time sitting around the dining room table, enjoying dinner and lively conversation.
We spent the last couple of days, sitting on the back porch talking and eating and talking and eating etc etc!
Tuesday evening we drove through Cuivre River State Park, before having dinner at Stefanina's.
Today, just before Pat continued her journey to her sister's home, we had lunch at Oddfellows, shopped at All About Home and took the tour of the old IOOF hall, on the upper floor of the building, where Oddfellows and All About Home are located.
Lunch was fabulous, as usual. Pat and I made a little purchase at the shop, naturally.
Aunt Pittypat's name has nothing to do with Gone With the Wind. Her sister began calling her Pittypat, many years ago. When she became an aunt, the name evolved.

Above, a couple of Fall vignettes at All About Home.
A daytime shot of Stefanina's, formerly Sacred Heart Church. This building was constructed after fire destroyed the original church in the 1950's.
During the 1990's the building was sold and a new church building was constructed, nearer the highway, in 1996.
A portrait of Stefanina.
J and Pat looking at the first communion photo, seen in an earlier post. When the restaurant opened, the owners asked for photographs and other Sacred Heart memorabilia. We donated the photo of J's first communion class. The photos and other things are displayed throughout the establishment.
A collage of the restaurant. The "chef" is standing in what was once a confessional. A few of the many donated photographs can be seen on the wall to the right.

We're making a quick trip to the lake, early tomorrow (Thursday). I'm looking forward to catching up with all of you, when we return.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Pat , sounds like you girls are having a good time sitting and talking on the porch. We don't have alot of porch weather left.I really miss my porch in the winter. Although I have been known to put my coat on and go out on the porch and sit in the swing for a while.

I put in some of the names that I could remember but they all showed up "no posts" Did I miss something? Do they take you down after a certain length of time? Email me at gypsy1958@comcast if you don't mind. I don't blog but i liked reading your comments and seeing your posts on rms. Hugs, Granny

I really enjoy seeing how you decorate for your fall season in the U.S. We tend not to celebrate the seasons so much here in Australia with decorations.Even Christmas is relatively low-key so it is a pleasure to see your lovely home and delightful company. Have fun!

Sounds like you gals are having a ton of fun - good for you!!! That eating and talking on the porch sounds perfect - great getting caught up with all the news after two years together.

Enjoy the holiday weekend. We've had some rain so the garden has come back to life but the acorns are falling like crazy now.

I have to say to all you friends of Pat out there.......everything is just incredible at that house. I was so welcomed and felt so at home and it was like I had been visiting in her home forever. It is just as beautiful as the pictures show you. I enjoyed every minute I spent with Pat, Jim and Molly!! I think Molly and I became friends too.

The food was incredible, the talk went on forever and the laughter was wonderful. But most of all, it is wonderful to have the friendship continue. (I'm already trying to figure out how to get back to visit again!, It's only an eight and a half hour drive!)

I'm off to the lake tomorrow to join more of my family. It shall be much fun. Just wish the heat and humidity would go down. Oh well, that's Missouri in August.

Thanks again Pat and Jim, and Molly.

Ah, the memories you shared! I celebrated my First Holy Communion at Sacred Heart in Tampa Florida...I remember how lovingly my mother affixed my little veil/cap and the "don't you get dirty, we're leaving for the Church in five minutes!" I of course could get dirty in five seconds, she was right to worry! Glad your visit with Pittypat went so well and I'm sure you all had loads of fun!
hugs

Hi, I'm new to your blog.
Long time friends are the best. The happiness jumped off the page, in your lovely post. I adored the vignette with the pillow and dolly. I'm actually creating some signs in my fall inventory with that (Wizard of Oz) quote. I'd sure like to purchase one of those (cloth) dolls.
Does *All About Home* have a web site. Please let me know. You can leave me a note on my blog. Thank you for sharing!

Have a *SWEET* Day!

Beautiful as always. I gave you an award for that in fact if you have time to visit! I love the pumpkin man on your mantel. I'm slowly collecting more similar to put around my fireplace. Tomorrow I promised myself I could start decorating for fall. I can't wait. I'm happy you had such a wonderful visit with your friend. It makes having a great home that much sweeter!!
