Stop by Between Naps on the Porch, where Susan hosts this fabulous event, showing creative tablescapes all around blogdom.
The table, set for lunch, at the lake. I used a quilt, turned to the reverse side, for the tablecloth. The stripe is green on a creamy white background. The green is repeated in the mug. Napkins of brown, green, creamy white, khaki and lavender stripes, were also used.
I've rolled two wonderful events into one post, with the addition of Foodie Friday, hosted by Gollum, at Designs by Gollum. This is the first week for the event. I'm looking forward to seeing foodie posts, every week. I know it will be fun!We first tried the Campbell's V8 soups, last fall. Oh my goodness, so delicious! There is a variety of soups available. Our choice for today was Butternut Squash, which I served with Pillsbury flaky biscuits and fresh brewed iced tea.
I've also served this Butternut Squash soup with grilled pork chops, wild & long grain rice, and a salad of mixed greens.

this looks great. I like how you used the other side of the quilt for your table. I have used the back side of placemats or the neutral side of a print tablecloth. It's fun to try and come up with something different. Boy would I love to try that soup! Great post!
blessings,
Debbie
I tried the butternut squash soup, too -- but it just wasn't as good as my sisters. But, her table didn't look pretty. So it's all square.
ha!
Soup sounds good and this is the perfect setting! Love the rustic lamp in the center.
Lovely table. Like the quilt and love that lantern! I like the 3 tealights and how they echo the overhead lamp! :D Jewel
That's one classy soup and table, love it! So easy too, thanks for sharing another lovely home setting.
I love your table setting. I used to have that fabulous lantern with the "floating" candles. I like to use quilts for table coverings also. They can inspire the rest of your design.
That lantern is soooo cute! I love how tall it is that you don't need much else on the table. Awesome setup...
Thanks for sharing, Carolyn
Lovely serene table. Love those pendant lights!
Thansk for teh heads up about the V8 soups. we've tried the Smoky Corn Chowder & didn't care for it but I'll give the ones you mentioned a try.
Love the butternut squash, almost restaurant quality.
YUM!! I love a good butternut squash soup!!
Both the tablescape and the potluck offering are great! I am going to search in my linen closet for the perfect quilt to use as a table covering ~ brilliant!
Pat, you make soup for two into an elegant event! Ahhhhh, this is what lunch should be.
Jenny

The temp's been diving outside all day. The snow's flying and the wind's picking up, too. Typical winter's day in these parts.
Soup would be great right about now. Such comfort in the midst of freezing temps.
Hi Pat, I love the simplicity of your tablescape. Thanks for sharing. Speaking of soup even tho I live in San Diego it's freezing. I need a bowl of tomato soup right now! Enjoy your day, Bonnie
I haven't heard of these soups before, but will definitely try them! I like the idea of the Foodie Fridays.
Hugs,
Cathie
I'll have to be on the lookout for these soups. They look great. I am hoping to participatei in Foodie Friday. Thanks for kicking us off :-)
Simple and pretty. That soup looks delicious. I have been a bit intimidated to post on my new blog to Met. Monday, Tablescape Tues. etc., but you have given me a big boost of confidence, Pat. While I admire many fancy settings, it isn't what I have the time or resources for right now. Simple is also very pretty. Thanks.
I love that latern on your table, and how smart to use the wrong side of a quilt for a tablecloth. The soup looks delicious! laurie
Hi Pat...
I just love your "Soup for Two" tablescape...so beautifully romantic! Everything is beautiful but that rustic looking lantern just makes the table...that and the colors and texture of the pretty quilt table covering...genius!!!

Pat, I love it. Your style is so uncluttered. Really lovely!
Pat... ya got me with that upside down quilt for the tablecloth... while just looking at your tablescape... I was wondering... "where'd she get that unusual tablecloth?"... thanks for answering that one...
Ricky and I frequently have simple soup like tomato, and grilled cheese sandwiches for supper on a cold winter evening... your tablescape makes me think of those evenings... so cozy and romantic! hugs. Dixie
so much to say and so much to read...what's a blogger nut to do?????
I'm always soothed HERE....AND i'm in the mood for soup
We are expecting 6 to 8 inches of snow Saturday in Chicagoland area. I expect soup will be on our menu this week-end. Progresso with lite salt has been our choice lately. Perhaps we will try this brand. Never had it! Love the lantern, the quilt put on table back side, and simple is divine!

I rarely like soup unless it is totally homemade, but I am going to try these...they sound wonderful.
