~Lakeside Lunch~

Foodie_Friday_Logo_2

Our daughter spent some time in Taiwan, for work, recently.  T has done lots of traveling to places around the world, but this trip was the longest flight.  She did okay on the trip there, but when she returned home, she had quite a problem with “jet lag”.  When we drove to the lake, early Sunday, T decided to follow us down for a couple of relaxing days at the condo.

While she was at the lake, I prepared the lunch, featured in this post.

This is my contribution for Foodie Friday.

lunch3

Tomatoes, from our daughter’s garden, fresh Basil from potted plants on our back porch, and Mozzarella Cheese from Trader Joe’s.

lunch2 Lunch ingredients from Trader Joe’s.

lunch13

I usually make my own sauces for pasta.  This time, wanting to spend less time in the kitchen, I tried Trader Joe’s Tomato Basil Marinara.  This sauce is delicious.  I will buy it again.

I added sauteed mushrooms and grated cheese.

As I type, it is Monday afternoon.  The temperature is a delightful 81; great for deck sitting and dining.

Happy Weekend!

It looks de-lish! I love Trader Joe's too...and wish we had one here. I, too, always make my own sauce because the canned ones always taste so "commercial'. I guess I will give TJ's sauce a try now. It would be nice to have that convenience once in a while.

Hope your sweet T (oh..that can be her new nickname- Sweet Tea-lol) got caught up on her rest. I'll bet you are glad to have her home. Diana

Those tomatoes look delicious! And we don't have a Trader Joe's here either. It had cooled down here for a few days, but the as of today the heat is returning. Leaves are falling everywhere because of all of the heat we have had & some of our trees are in distress.

So glad you got to have some time with your daughter!

Your lunch sounds yummy.
I hope that your daughter gets some good R&R this weekend.
We do not have a Trader Joe's in our area.

Looks delicious Pat. I am off to TJ's this AM, a 40 minute drive for me, but I cannot live w/o the Bayblend coffee, the Black Mountain Cabernet and the Mandarin Orange Chicken. Guess I will add the marinara to today's list. Thanks for the tip!

Oh your pasta looks fabulous. I would love for it to be 81 here. It is still in the mid 100's and I don't see it changing any time soon. Enjoy. Hugs, Marty

That looks so good!! Would love to have a TJ's here, but the closest one is a little over 200 miles away. :(

looks very refreshing and delicious. I so wish we had a trader joe's here, but alas it's not to be. I make pasta sauce and freeze in smaller containers just for occasions like this one. Hope you had a great time.

Pat your food photos always make me drool, and I'm not even hungry. So beautiful. I'm delighted there is a Trader Joe's where we'll be moving. I haven't had one near since hubby and I lived in OR.

So excited..they are opening a Trader Joes within a mile of here! This meal is right up my alley and we have wonderful tomatoes that are just ripe.

Looks so good. Our closest Trader Joe's is in St. Louis, so we don't get there often. They do have great things. If I had a Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods...I'd be one happy cook!

Hi Pat, Love the table setting and the food. Mmmmmm. I know you are a great cook but when you find something good in the market go for it. I sure do.

How nice for your daughter to relax with her parents.

Have a wonderful week.

Everything looks scrumptious! I've been on vacation and missed you! (and I don't feel bad about using trader joes if I don't have time - you can understand all of the ingredients!)

You pasta looks amazing...I pass by Trader Joe's all the time and I have only been inside once since they opened...I wasn't crazy about it back then but I may have to try it again when it's less crowded...
You must be a fabulous cook because your food shows that so if you say their sauce is good I will take that as a good reccomendation..thanks!! Sue.
