~Pheasant Surroundings~

falltable15A Cuttings from a burning bush, plumes from ornamental grass and pheasant feathers, form the arrangement.

Copper containers, borrowed from the kitchen cabinet tops, a pheasant plate, and ceramic pheasants, we’ve owned for years and years, renewed with dark brown paint, complete the centerpiece.

pheasanttable9A A mix of Johnson Brothers plates, small tureens from Nell Hills, 99 cent Target flatware a $5 garage sale tablecloth, and Michael’s candle rings, used as napkin rings, are among the elements of this Fall table.

Stop by Susan’s Between Naps on the Porch, each Thursday, for table inspiration, around the land of blog.

pheasanttable10A I found the small stems at Marshall’s, after Christmas, 2008. I don’t recall where I found the larger stems; perhaps the Mikasa outlet.

Back Porch News

Just over a week ago, Back Porch Musings became www.backporchmusings.com

You will be directed here, when you click my old web address. Everything is as usual. I just decided to make this tiny change. When I switched, I lost my blog list. Not the Follower list, that one remained fine.

I’ve replaced about 50% of my old blog list and I hope to add more.

If you haven’t heard yet, J has completed physical therapy and is as good as new; as witnessed by his amazing work, painting the master bedroom and a piece of furniture or two.

table4bI’m excited about this “metamorphosis”. Completion is just over the horizon!

Rhoda is hosting a Fall Party, October 1st. Fall-color

I usually decorate the back porch and dining room table, for Fall and sometimes the kitchen island.

In honor of Rhoda’s party, I’m planning a little Fall something for the hearth room mantel and other areas of our home.

The image, above, is a vignette on the portico of the gift shop at Big Cedar Resort, during Fall 2008.
