~Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff~

Once again it's time for Foodie Friday, hosted by Michael, of Designs by Gollum. Follow the link to find delicious dishes, from all around blogland.

Back Porch Musings' offering for this week's potluck is, Beef Stroganoff.

1 packet Crockery Gourmet Seasoning Mix for Beef
1-2 lbs, beef (I used stew meat, in 2 inch cubes)
1 large onion (diced)
1 8oz can mushrooms, drained (I used fresh sliced mushrooms)
Mix packet with two cups water and add to crock pot, add beef and cook on low 7-8 hours.
At the end of cooking, fold in 1 8oz. container sour cream.

Serve over extra wide, homestyle noodles.

I served the stroganoff with spring mix salad, hot rolls and a dry red wine.

ALTERNATE: If you are unable to find Crockery Gourmet Seasonings, I believe you can achieve the same dish by dredging the beef in flour, then brown in a little olive oil. Add 1 or 2 cans of beef broth to crock pot, then beef, using the same cooking time, you may need to use a thickening agent; adding the sour cream when ready to serve.

I'm working on a post, answering your questions, from the "anniversary post". I hope to publish next week.

The double bonnet secretary is in place; photos soon.
Back Porch Musings is having a little face lift. Look for a couple of changes, coming up.

Have a wonderful weekend!
